Advice Services
Our advice service gives welfare rights, money and debt advice to Link tenants and sharing owners. Within the team we have an officer who works with Horizon Housing Association and Manor Estates Housing Association. The service works to sustain tenancies, prevent homelessness and lower the number of legal actions being taken against tenants.
The Welfare Rights team monitors change in welfare law to work out how they affect the whole of Link. They also deliver training courses to staff covering various benefit and welfare related issues.
The team works with tenants to help minimise the impact of welfare reform by completing benefit checks, helping with benefit claims and accessing charitable grants. They also help tenants with mandatory reconsiderations and appeals.
The Money and debt team aims to combat poverty and financial exclusion. They do this by helping deal with issues of debt and by supporting tenants in accessing debt resolution options.
